  1. Yes, definitely watercolours. Possibly pale washes and inks would work well too. Lovely delicate yet gently elegant blooms. Shame about your flag iris any ideas what’s attacked it – water or earthbound pest?

    • It looked as if slugs had quite a go judging by the holes, but I wasn’t sure if the rhizomes had done some rotting in the ground first. Anyway – bother. I do miss them so maybe I’ll try again one day.

      • Yes, there seems a slug for every soil type and moisture level; the glorious abundance and diversity of nature is sometimes the downside for gardeners. It’s hard to know if slug damage opened the door for rot or vice versa. Better luck next time.
