No instinct to pilgrimage

… But doing it anyway.

Salisbury has not only kept its Close; it has kept its water meadows too.  At this time of year the smaller channels are dry and clothed in a rich flora, but the rivers and streams still run with clear waters.     • That’s the trouble with travel, you end up with such divided loyalties. I lived in Manly for a couple of years as a teenager, and even now I sometimes get a pang of longing for the ferry crossing the harbour, or the gum trees and the bush 😦
