On a falling tide

The day was ridiculously benevolent.  First I removed my hat and gloves, then the scarf, then the big jumper.  Part of the walk I chose this morning is often inaccessible as the sea comes to the foot of the cliffs, but in calm conditions with a falling tide I walked on from bay to bay to bay, walking past eons and climates as I went.

  1. I read this and just had to listen to an oystercatcher – and found one at the British Library’s wildlife recordings section. It’s made my day. Excellent.
