Spring harvest


This is the first crop of the year, grown in the conservatory from the first sowing of the year about six weeks ago.

At the same time, however, the weather delivered a smart frost, reminding me not to take any liberties with the planting out.

  1. Mmmm, lettuce. And the frost reminder is useful – where I am, the official frost date is May 15, but it’s so tempting to put things out NOW, considering that today’s high will be more like July than April. (And next Sunday’s high, they say, will be colder than today’s low.)
